Hospital Director in Israel Says 80% of Serious COVID-19 Cases Had Received at Least Three Shots of COVID Vaccines (VIDEO)
The Director of Ichilov Hospital revealed in his recent interview that between 70% and 80% of serious COVID-19 cases reported in their hospital were vaccinated individuals.
According to Prof. Yaakov Jerris, Director of Ichilov Hospital’s coronavirus ward, the majority of severe COVID cases reported had received at least three shots. He also claimed that the vaccine has ‘no significance regarding severe illness.’
“Right now, most of our severe cases are vaccinated,” Jerris told Channel 13 News. “They had at least three injections. Between seventy and eighty percent of the serious cases are vaccinated. So, the vaccine has no significance regarding severe illness, which is why just twenty to twenty-five percent of our patients are unvaccinated,” he added.

Jerris also revealed some of the confusion in reporting cases. Speaking at a cabinet meeting on Sunday, he told ministers, “Defining a serious patient is problematic. For example, a patient with a chronic lung disease always had a low level of oxygen, but now he has a positive coronavirus test result which technically makes him a ‘serious coronavirus patient,’ but that’s not accurate. The patient is only in a difficult condition because he has a serious underlying illness.
The number of patients with severe COVID conditions hospitalized in Israelcontinued to rise on Sunday and hit an all-time high of 1,263. This is the highest number since the start of the pandemic, according to new Health Ministry data.
Israel is one of the countries with the highest vaccination rates. According to the data from Reuters, Israel has administered at least 17,879,314 doses of COVID vaccines so far. Assuming every person needs 2 doses, that’s enough to have vaccinated about 98.7%of the country’s population.
Israel now has the highest COVID number of COVID deaths per one million people in the world despite having a high vaccination rate.
